Leader Resource Spotlight:

How do you become a better leader? You execute better, simplify and clarify your personal and organizational goals, and refine your methods. These were just some of the valuable insights expanded upon at the recent World High Performance Forum in Chicago. Some of the world’s most impressive speakers delivered the lessons: Ram Charan, Ken Blanchard, Tony Schwartz, Hyrum Smith, Lyn Heward, and Tom Peters.

The event will undoubtedly propel conference attendees to greater heights. Listening to the lessons offered, interacting with the speakers, and then networking with other conference attendees created an excellent environment for worthwhile reflection and personal growth.

Ram Charan, the author of the bestselling book Execution: The Discipline of Getting Things Done, focused his comments on execution. He offered valuable insights on how to execute better and shared illustrations about organizations that are effectively executing. Ken Blanchard--perhaps best known for his bestseller, The One Minute Manager®--focused his message on leadership and team building. Ken's skill as a gifted storyteller and his effective use of humor really brought his lessons to life. Tony Schwartz, an author, speaker, and agent in maximizing individual and organizational performance, spoke about engagement. He offered novel thoughts on people's individual energy expenditure and advocated rethinking the way we work. Hyrum Smith, another charismatic speaker, spoke about effective time management. The co-founder of Franklin Covey, Smith is the author of such books as The 10 Natural Laws of Successful Time and Life Management. It was these ten natural laws around which Smith focused his speech, and he presented compelling reasons for people to implement the laws in their lives. Lyn Heward, who has played a pivotal role in the success experienced by Cirque du Soleil, spoke about creativity and talent recruiting. She used video of Cirque du Soleil performances to help bring her insights to life. Tom Peters--for years a worldwide management guru--spoke about innovation. He discussed current and upcoming trends and delivered his sage advice in a humorous and memorable way.

If you have an opportunity to attend a conference that offers a collection of the best and brightest thought leaders in the world, I highly recommend it. To see some of the upcoming events offered by the HSM Group,
